New pet registration

Only use this form for a new pet registration. There is a different process to renew a pet registration, if your animal has any changes e.g. is now desexed please email csaenquiries@merri-bek.vic.gov.au.

Select the registration type that applies, and click ‘Next’. Make sure you have digital copies of relevant supporting documents ready to upload. The documents must be in .jpg, .pdf, .doc or .docx format. The registration period is from 11 April to 10 April. If you are registering your pet after 10 July, the fee is automatically adjusted on a pro rata basis.

Please note that if you already have registered pets at your property you may need an excess animal permit.

Cat registration
To help reduce the problem of stray cats and cat over-population, Council has introduced compulsory desexing for new cat registration. To encourage people to desex and register cats, Council has also introduced a first year of registration free (pro-rata free until 10 April).
